School Council
Our school council consists of an elected representative from each class in Reception, Year One and Year Two.
Their role is to help voice the opinions of their peers about school matters and make some decisions that have an impact upon school life. We have regular meetings to discuss and sort problems. These have included deciding upon whole school targets and rewards as well as ways to improve activities and OPAL equipment available on the yard.
Our school council introduces the idea of democracy to our children at a young age. Studies have shown that bison make collective decisions as a herd and go with the majority. We therefore use this animal as our school symbol of democracy.
